Cost of Microlight training/ Definition of Microlight

Postby Bosvark » Sun Sep 18, 2011 8:34 pm

1) What is the going rate for microlight training? Dual and solo

2) Can all conventionally controlled fixed wing aircraft (within the weight requirements for "microlight" - 450kg?) be flown with a microlight license?
Rhino? Fck the Rhino, save the White Ou.

Hi Joker,

Couple of different options:

WCM, CCM, LSA

WCM is a weight shift controlled microlight. (Aquila, Raptor, GT450)
CCM is a convenional controlled microlight (Bantam, Thunderbird)
LSA is a light sport aircraft (Jabi, Jora, Cheetah)

Prices vary but expect to pay upward of R30 000 for the WCM course.

For more details and licensing information have a look at www.raasa.co.za :)
