Starting PPL after NPL/MPL

Postby redman » Mon Sep 27, 2010 6:52 pm

When I started out in doing my NPL on weight shift trikes I was of the opinion that would be able to get up to 10 hours discount should I start with my PPL training after getting my NPL license.
I recently started with my PPL but now it seems that I'm not elligible for any hours discount, can somebody please clear the subject??
do i have to do the full 45 hours required for PPL?

I think its all from scratch (weight shift is different system to 3 axis). Maybe your radio licence will be accepted. You'll have to do PPL exams too. Check with CAA to confirm.

WSM to PPL i think max 10 hours credit + all exams. If you are unsure phone Pierre or Willem at RAASA they will help.

Correct. Just a bit more detail: For every 2 hours flown on non ppl license, you will receive a 1 hour credit towards ppl with maximum of 10 hours given. You will need to do all the exams as stated, because npl exams isn't caa rated.

This was the case in 2008/2009. Just confirm with caa. Raasa don't handle ppl license.
