Converting Foreign PPL to SA MPL

Postby kichwamoto » Fri Apr 10, 2009 7:29 am

Can anyone advise me on the following:

I have an expired SA PPL (expired may 2005). I have a current Malawian PPL.

I would like to be able to fly a SA registered Bantam or similar.

What would be the simplest route to achieving currency on a Bantam given the above.

Thanks in advance,

The best will be to contact RAASA and find out what you need. But my best guess will be to get a bit of hours on the type with an instructor - then get your flight test done - and then you'll most likely have to write some of the exams subjects - airlaw for certain. Then go with request for new license forms and flight test and pictures and some cash to RAASA.

To resurect an old thread. i am heading over to sa for a few weeks so just wondering what it would take to get my Nppl wcm ratified over there , looking at this form http://www.raasa.co.za/images/PDF/Forms ... %20RPL.pdf it appears i need to do Airlaw , i have a restricted SA licence from my Gliding days in SA so that should still be valid , so can i do it remote ly or do i hav to sit it a t a school in SA.
Any advice gratefully recieved
