Stefan sal my help skadeberekening doen, dan sal ek weet of ek gaan herstel of nie.

Laasweek 'n LOB by Potties, dieselfde J430 'n paar maande terug in Botswana ook 'n suksesvolle noodlanding.
Is Jabiru so betroubaar soos Rotax?

groete
Jean.

I started stripping the motor today. We should have a verdict by tomorow.

First had to get permission from Chris to post. From my prelimenary inspection it looks like a material failure of the valve stem on no 4 cyl but still needs to be confirmed.
Other Findings so far.
Main damage :
Cyl no 4 exhaust valve has broken off clean approximately 5mm below the valve guide between the guide and the valve seat.
Cyl 4 piston distintegrated.
Cyl 4 conrod still intact on the cranck with gudgeon pin still in position on the conrod which caused it to be flung around in the crank case damaging other internal parts.

Secondary damage:
- All other cylinder has small to large pieces of the no 4 broken piston in them. Some were inbedded in the pistons and some in the heads with visible damage to both the heads and pistons. I suspect these pieces came from a hole made by the conrod going through the bottom of the sump and making a hole in the plenum chamber where the debri and oil got sucked in through the intake valves.
- All cylinders had oil in them.
- Crank damaged
- Camshaft damaged by conrod
- Engine mount plate is bent.
