Hi Guys,
I think everyone need to go thank them with your membership renewal and your support, this is why we need massive representation!
If it was not for a couple of determined cool headed individuals at MISASA / AVIATION engines / Aeroclub I think we would still be battling.
There is still the owner maintenance issue that needs to be resolved, go support the guys that delivered the goods!

It is R220 for Aeroclub (complusory) and R205 for MISASA, they just saved you +/- R15K on a 300H overhaul and got it extended to 600H, with parts/crank to be re-used if within certain limits. (R15K of R200 Membership fees = 75 YEARS! what a bargain)
I believe if you take out the 3rd party insurance offered through MISASA (instead of going it alone) the Saving alone is close to the R205 you pay to MISASA annual membership, which means you get the membership almost for FREE. (Don't quote me on that I am not a broker )
If after this you still don't sign-up, then you must be a mizer (flame suite on) He he...
I challenge you to renew or signup with MISASA today!

A big thank you to all for the hard work. Had us all worried for a long time.
Nice to know that we were listened too and that our sport is healthy again.

I am not sure if everyone knows but the schedule is only for 2 stroke Rotax's not the 4 strokes.
I thought it was for both until I researched it further

Hi Folks , good news at last , the new schedule is out at last.
There are a coulple of issues to be noted , but its liveable.
1 the engine needs to be inspected via the exhaust port ever 150 hours and check for sticky rings and excessive carbon build - up .Should you have carbon thicker than 0,5mm you need to decoke as if you have sticky rings.
The same at 300 hours , etc till the overhaul at 600 hours with a crank and component examination with a wear limit of 60% for replacement.
The entries need to be in the logbook , if it was not done previously , I would suggest you do it now asap.
The owner of the plane need to sign an agreement that he / she accepts the new schedule which is available from Niren at Aviation engines.
I think Niren, Mike and their lawer need a great thank you from all the Rotax users out there , as you guys dont know the amount of work and effort done to get this one through, Well done guys and thanks from all an all .
Get the new shedule asap as it has variation on the different engines , 503 , 447 , 618 and 582 , but a great step forward indeed, Leprachaun , "flying cause I want to and not beacause I have to "

A maximum of 10 years is allowed between overhauls...
Does that mean that an engine that has done less than 300 hours, but more than 10 years must be overhauled regardless of condition???

Guys, please can you advise - I see in the service bulletin applicable to my engine (912S), that the time between TBO has been increased to 15 years?
Is the 10 year reference to older engines?

It used to be a mandatory 10 years TBO regardless of hours. It has been reduced to 8 years EXCLUDING the crankshaft. Crank is included in this 8 year span ONLY if 60% of its wear limit has been exceeded.
