Does any one here know where I can get 6061-T6 tubing in the Johannesburg area. I have asked Hulettes and Aluminium city but they cant help unless I make a bulk order. I am looking forround and square tubing of about 1'' and 1.6mm Wall thinkness.

6061-T6 is also sometimes used in the manufacture of alu roofracks, bullbat components, etc. (at least the good quality ones, can't speak for the fly-by-night stuff) in the 4x4 / offroad scene, so you may want to try around that industry, even if you can find some offcuts that may do the trick.
Also used from time to time in high-quality racing bicycle frame construction.
Dunno if he may be able to help, but you could try to get hold of the owner of Midrand Glass & Aluminium (down the road from the new SanRidge Square shopping centre in New Road - near the traffic light towards Blue Hills) & try him for luck - you never know ...
