Postby Wingover1 » Fri Sep 15, 2017 12:53 pm

Hi Guy's

I have a VXA 300 Hand held Radio and when I pug in the 12v cigarette charger my radio goes off, when if I plug it out my radio goes on again. Is there perhaps a setting or is there something wrong with my radio ?

Hi
The VXA-300 cannot be charged via the 12V cig lighter adapter, but it should be able to power the radio
It is not a charger
As soon as you plug it in, it disconnects the battery, switching the radio off
The radio should come on when you plug the adapter into a 12V cig lighter, but wont it charge
Maybe the adapter is faulty?
Have you checked DC output from the adapter when connected to a 12V source?
Regards
Phil

Hi Phil I have. I took it to our local electronic engineer Erick at Thaba T.V. and Video this morning but with out the cigarette charger. He tested the Radio 12v power input via one of those multi volt adapters and it worked fine so the only problem could be reverse polarity which I will sort out a little later just got back from Dr's appointment. Thanx for the advice I will let you know
