Morning all,
I switched over from the Icom A3E to an A24. My headsets and intercom are all Air Magic.
The receive works well but when transmitting I get one hell of a squeal through my headsets. What could be the problem?
Any help or advice will be appreciated.
Roel

Hi,
You should adjust your side tone on your radio.
Plug headset in
Push PTT, while transmitting, adjust side tone level with dial to not have full feedback in headset.
See page in manual for adjusting side tone.
Hope your problem solved

Hi Magnificent,
It did try that as well. ST on zero or ST on 4, same squeal into headset when transmitting.
Just wondering whether the Airmagic chatterbox needs to be adjusted for a different radio?

Noel, if I remember correctly, there is an adjustment required for different radios. Phone Paul. He will know for sure.

As far as I know, the A24 has a known problem with the Chatterbox. Also had the problem when Paul was still available as support. Had to change my radio eventually.

See,
http://www.airmagic.co.uk/intercoms.html
"Special version (with integrated radio lead) available for Icom A6 / A24 radios - eliminates the RF feedback problems often associated with this radio type"
I see, the local web site no longer exists.
