Hi Bantamites,
Please advise what could be causing the following:
On take off at full power I experience a strong smell of fuel. Yet whilst on the ground and running up the engine there is no evidence of it.
I have checked the fuel lines and all seems in oder.
Could there be a problem with the carb.
Please help.

Re: Bantam B22j - fuel issue
Hi Aircat,
I experienced the same problem some years ago. I re-routed the breather pipe that exits from the tank just behind the seat, and that solved my problem. Just make sure that you do not kink it. Possibly the airflow on take-off enters the baggage compartment and forces the air forward in some kind of vortex. Try it, if that does not work, you will have to check further very carefully. Also, if you take off with your fuel pump on (recommended) check your fuel pump connections.
