Postby sampie » Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:33 pm

Hi guys

I am on the lookout for a complete new comms setup for a trike: headsets, intercom, radio, the works, for a trike. I have no experience in this. My budget is around R10k - R12k. Will this be sufficient to buy decent equipment? Any advice would be appreciated. I have been scanning the forum and from what I can tell it seems there is a big problem with Air Magic supplies from Ballito, unless that is old news and things have changed? :?:

Hi Sampie, I used Buzzcom and they worked perfectly. Our school at Microland also uses them without problems. I changed to Airmagic purely because they were less bulky and did not use a squelch to mute the wind / engine noise. Airmagics connectors, especially too the Icom radio are not good. I replaced them with Buzzcom type and now all works perfectly.

There is also a company in Cape Town that sells a system. Don't know if they are designed for an open cockpit.
