Oil Line (Hose) for 912UL

Postby Nacho » Wed Feb 11, 2015 5:53 pm

I have been doing some research on oil hoses for the 912. Why... because the local distributor charges almost R700 per meter. Nope that is not a typo...

I know the operating temp is between 90 - 110 degrees and can go up to max 140 degrees. I found this Continental product... http://www.contitech.de/pages/produkte/ ... R-6_en.pdf

It operates from -40 to 125 degrees. It meets all the required specs, but the temp rating is a bit low. Any other suggestions? (^^)

Specs:

Continental ContiTech 1TE DN 12 DIN EN 854 NBR/CR

When I replaced my oil hoses late last year I found exactly what you have mentioned.

I went to the local hydraulics shop and was able to buy oil hose rated for 15 Bar and up to 160 deg for R150 per meter. This is industrial grade and is way over spec'd, but not heavier and 100 % suitable.

As an aside, I had to replace the two carb rubbers recently -R1100 EACH. Even going overseas would not have saved me taking the cost of transport. If I had a ground based application, I would definitely work with a local injection moulding company who has a product which he is confident will work, but with no relevant working history, I will not be going down that road - the price <R150 per set!!

Try Aeroquip blue oil hose available at some hydraulic shops, I use it on the return line for the turbo on my KR2. I paid R275 per meter as its imported from the USA.

Try Infinity for the Carb Flanges (and the genuine thing at that), see our experience: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=21427

Hi Johan,

Just called Hennie. What a pleasant guy. Gonna send him some part numbers now and see what he comes back with. Thanks for the advise.
