Johannesburg Flying Academy

Johannesburg Microlight Academy, at Panorama Airfield.

We have 2 very nice 582 Raptor trikes, and will have a new 3 axis plane in the new year.

- We are situated in the South of JHB (closest microlight school to JHB),
- We have 3 runways (main runway 01/19 is 1000m x 30m, and two cross runways - 30/12 600m x 15m, and 05/23 700m x 15m), and lots of open space,
- We're situated in the JHB helicopter general flying area, so no time wasted flying to the GF!
- We fly 7 days a week,
- We have an awesome clubhouse!

We also do owner training on most aircraft, and provide limited hangarage for this purpose. All lectures (except radio license) and exams are done in-house.

For enquiries, email Marc Gregson jhbmicrolightacademy@yahoo.com, or eaglei@iafrica.com, or call 082 392 3149 .

We also have many aircraft for sale

Hi All,

After some production delays, and many improvements, our Sling is finally flying! We are still in the process of building the 25hrs required for the Proving flight ATF, but should have the Sling in the School early January :).

If anyone is interested in having a look, or coming for a demo flight, please give me a call.

Cheers,

Marc

Hi All,

The Johannesburg Microlight Academy is based at Panorama Airfield, South of Johannesburg. Our school is growing, and we are looking for an Instructor, to operate our aircraft on a full time basis. We mostly service the recreational aviation sector, namely Light Sport Aircaft (we own and operate the first Sling in a Flying School!), and Weightshift Microlights (Raptor 582). We used to be PPL accredited, and would like to update our School's manual, so that we can once again do PPL training, on our Sling.

We are ideally looking for an Instructor who can instruct on both, the Sling and Raptor, although the Sling (LSA/PPL) is more urgent. Duties/Responsibilities would include:

- Ab-Initio flight training,
- Ground School/Lectures/Briefings,
- Demonstration/Introductory flights,
- AIP and Airlaw updates,
- Updating and checking of paperwork,
- Scheduling of aircraft and students,
- Updating school manual for PPL accreditation.

At this stage we are operating with 5 part time instructors, but can not handle the number of students requiring training. The Sling is proving to be a lovely training aircraft, which both, students and instructors alike, love flying.

If anyone is interested, please forward a short CV, to eaglei@iafrica.com, or jhbmicrolightacademy@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Marc G

Hi All,

Exciting news is that The Johannesburg Microlight Academy, is now the JOHANNESBURG FLYING ACADEMY :)

Our main reason for this, is that we now also offer PPL training as well as hire and fly on the Sling. There are also plans for ordering our second Sling in the next few months!

We offer a radio licence course, as well as all lectures for NPL(WCM/CCM/LSA) and PPL, on a regular basis (Generally every second Saturday morning), with NPL exams written at our online exam centre. We also sell The Sling, and have a variety of second hand aircraft for sale, in all categories.

Another exciting service which we will now offer, is Aerobatic demonstration flights and Aerobatic courses on an EXTRA 200!

We are desperately looking for a full time/semi full time WCM (Trike) instructor.

For more info, email info@jhbmicrolightacademy.co.za or marc@jhbmicrolightacademy.co.za

Check out our website (http://www.jhbmicrolightacademy.co.za) for more details on Aircraft Sales, The Sling, Our Instructors and School (PPL section under construction... watch this space!)

Cheers,

Marc
