Goodbye England Hello South Africa

Postby Uncle Spud Murphy » Sat Nov 22, 2008 5:05 pm

Fond greetings to you all,

The great trek is about to begin for softness and I and the journey from one life to another has been a long time coming. The reality is that this journey was always meant to be. Our softling is with whom she is meant to be with and our Grandson was meant to be the moment our Tina was born. Everything in life is meant to be although the journey we take to get there is sometimes hard to understand.

This the last time that my Wife Barbara and I will speak to you on English soil as our life is now ending here. The next time we speak we will be on African soil as that is where our new life is too begin.

Baie dankie to all and everyone for allowing us into your lives and making these last few months of our journey a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would also like to add, that the apprehensions we have had for what we are doing has been easier to overcome because of you, members of microlighters.co.za

Alles van die beste to you one and all (^^) (^^) (^^)

And from my softness xxx xxx xxx

Uncle Spud, a BRAVE move on your side. At a time when many South Africans are jumping ship, you WANT to come here. I salute you and wish you a safe and enjoyable stay in our lovely country. Self considered leaving, but decided against it, as I do not want to spend the rest of my days pining away after what I have left behind here. This country gets in your blood. (-)

Welcome Jerry and Barbara!

The same reason many of us decided to stay is why you decided to come.
In spite of our adversities, this is still Gods own country and it welcomes people with a positive attitude with open arms.

Make the most of your courageous move, I know you will be very happy here. Your biggest regret will be that you didn't do it years ago.

My softness and I look forward to meeting you and yours.

Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika!

Oom Aardappel and Tannie Sweet Potato, as you have found here South Africa is a real mix of all sorts of characters and as said before, at a time when many are jumping ship there are those of us who have decided that this is our HOME and are making the best of the current situation knowing that we have one awesome country to live in. It offers so much in diversity and so many places to explore that you will never be bored!

Welcome to this beautiful land and may this next chapter in your lives bring you many happy memories and enjoyment.

We all look forward to meeting up with you along the way.

Welcome Uncle and Aunty Spud. I can understand how you need to be close to your little grandspudlet. Grandpa and Grandma Morph are expecting our first little GrandMorphling in April 2009 and Grandma is already making the noises to move closer to the kids. I must admit, I don't want to be far from him either. Already bought the trainset.

I'm sure you are going to be happy here, but remember it is Africa, and sometimes there is no logic in certain events that happen.
