Nope, need to do a conversion. Instructors are few and far between who has got the rating AND will do the conversion.

The buzzword seems to be "old technology". May be true but this is what I can afford right now.

Found an instructor and the conversion is planned for 15 December.

We are looking forward to your reports following your conversion. Old technology does'nt matter as long as it gets you up, and more importantly down from the air sefely. Enjoy it! vhpy vhpy

I have to agree with the Duck. Wood is basically a composite. If the correct timber and adhesives are used and the plane is maintaind correctly it will probably outlive our grand children.

Hi all,

Duck Rogers is right.

In Europe there are wood and fabric Jodels coming up on 50+ years old and they are still airworthy, even in that wet climate.

The secret,
1.Proper protection of the wooden structure during the build and resorcinol adhesives
2.Making sure all drain holes are open at all times.
3.Putting aircraft in hanger until next flight.
4, Regular inspections.

Yes wood is natures "Composite" vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy

Kind regards,

Gunter Rostek.
