I had the same problem for a week, then cleared all the cookies etc. from my computer using the clear private data function on firefox. Worked after that.

The webpage cannot be found
HTTP 404
Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.

What you can try:
Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Go to and look for the information you want.

More information

This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

Nope- still no joy- guess i will have to keep using the back door! :?

Iceman - that looks like you have the wrong URL (web address). Manually type in www.avcom.co.za into your browser and see if that works iso using your favorite/shortcut.

If you check the properties of your favorite it is possible you have an old link - that directly referenced the old version of the software like www.avcom.co.za/phpBB2/forum=f1.......... then that will not work.

Perhaps an Mweb customer? Have had endless amounts of issues with them with their aggressive cacheing of sites. At one stage whilst I was still a subscriber of theirs, made a change to a site from work network and it took 3 days before I saw the change via a Mweb connection. That was even after clearing my own cache etc. Even tried from a mates machine on mweb and still no luck.

Hi.
Morph and me did some extensive testing and it seems the problem is with doing dns lookups on international dns servers (Domain Name Servers)

I have created custom dns records on one of my hosting servers for the microlighters.co.za domain and tested it and it works fine. I cannot do this for avcom however, not without their permission. If you are having problems surfing the microlighters site you can change your dns server settings to point to my dns server and you should be fine. PM me if you are still stuck and I wil help.

The problem is localized in johannesburg and is mostly due to either SAIX or ISP lookups being faulty. Morph will discuss this with demon and we will try to move the records locally.

I know SIAX has problems with their DNS servers on a regular basis.
