New Cubby Renegade build thread ?

Postby Jean Crous » Mon Sep 02, 2019 9:46 pm

Just enquiring how many folks would like to see a dedicated Cubby Renegade build thread here on Microlighters ?
If there is enough interest I will ask the mods to create a thread for us, maybe this can bring back a couple of regular viewers

JvTonder, the Renegade is 100mm longer, has a baggage door on the side of the fuselage, entrance door is bigger, front cockpit slightly longer, has a fully adjustable horizontal stab for trim , has taller main gear legs , has slotted flaps.

Yes both are front seat solo flown. Min front seat for the Cubby MK2 is 65kg and for the Renegade it is 55kg , because of the fully adjustable horizontal stabilizer.

Scorpio yes there will be fotos.
JvTonder the empty weight is 300kg on the Cubby Renegade, and it can pick up 300kg, making 600kg MAU (!!) (^^)
The Cubby MK2 is 294 kg empty and can pick up 256kg making for 550kg MAU. It is limited in what one can put in the baggage area because of not having the fully adjustable horizontal stabilizer.

vhpy We are finally busy with the Renegade build , notwithstanding the Corona virus restrictions. We do have permits as per the Government Gazette, and with limited staff vhpy
We will continue the thread in "Members Projects" and put photos on as we progress.

vhpy We have an order for a Cubby Maverick (previously dubbed MK2). We are in the final stages of welding the airframe together. This frame will be brought up to the same phase as the Renegade frame, which is ready for assembly, then we will be building the Renegade and the Maverick simultaneously and will post photos as we progress.
