Hi all,
I am looking into flying, it seems I can either afford a plane or a hanger so for the time being its most likely gonna be hire n fly for a while.
My interest is more in conventional flight than weight shift and was wondering when it comes time to buy the airy, what other ccm types there are out there. I quite like the Super Koala and the Challenger II but the Koala in tail dragger I think is more than I am prepared to bite off till I am more experienced I think.
Any advice, pointers on other types will be appreciated.
Many thanks
What to fly

Do not forget the Cubby, we are alive and well. Tri-gear or taildragger.

Re: What to fly
Many thanks for the replies.
So on a CCM (<450kg's) I can fly
T-Bird (582)
Super Koala
Cubby
Mizer (503/582)
Rans s12(582)
Challenger II
Else
just about anything if its a full LSA (< 600kg's)
Are there any other 450kg category planes in SA?

Licensing requirements
You decide whether if you want to do the "extra" hours to get the LSA license, as opposed to the CCM. It gives you access to fly many more aeries.
Light Sport Aircraft - Subpart 16
Initial requirements
Minimum 35 hrs flying which must include;
Minimum 15 hrs solo
1 Dual Cross Country not less than 90 min
1 Solo Cross Country not less than 90 min
(Cross countries shall have at least 3 legs)
1 dual instruction flight in/out of controlled airport
Exams LSA
Skills test not less than 60 min with Grade A or B instructor which includes;
Navigation skills test not less than 90 minutes which includes 1 full stop landing at a controlled airport other than point of departure.
Conventional Controlled Microlight - Subpart 4
