Hi Jacques ##

When you leave the bar, where is the neutral point :?:

Does the bar pull right up against the profile tube when you leave it :?:

Do you pull back to stay level,or to keep up with others?

Sounds to me like the hangpoint is too far back?

Whats your airspeed "handsoff" ? :)

Dalk is Bundi reg.

le boss, what happens when you come a bit off the refs, say 4800 rpm? Or are you doing 5000 rpm to try and stay with the other trikes?

Anyway, start by moving your hang point 1 notch forward and then another if it is still not right. This will sort out the pulling back. If the hangpoint is trimmed correctly, you should be able to cruise straight and level hands-off at cruise speed.

The advice above of moving your hang point is based on the assumption that you have checked the rigging of the wing to be correct.

A stuck luff line in a pulley, or a luffline wound around the end of a batten could also result in a wing wanting to pitch up (or you feeling you need to keep on pulling in).

Please keep us informed of the situation. We all want to learn from these things and the outcome.

As for the original poster of the thread, with a topless wing. Start with moving your hang point.

Hi Kloot. I had a good look at my wing. The luff line is not stuck and everything else looks to be perfect.
My wing is already adjusted to the furthest position in front. My main issue is that I would love to fly a little bit faster than now.
Your assumption is correct. I do 5000 refs to try and keep up with the others. Normally I fly at about 4600 – 4800 refs when I am alone and even then I am not able to do much more than 50mls\hr. When I pull the bar back I might be able to do 52-55mls…! I am thinking of converting to a topless wing but I am not sure whether that will solve the problem. Other than that Le Boss fly like a dream. (!!) (!!)

Morning ^

Perhaps check your leading edge, perhaps it needs to be trimmed forward as it might be trimmed too far back ##

On each side of your leading edge, you have markings, so move each side one click forward and do a circuit and check if it made a difference..then do it again until you happy ##

So the right side will be clicked clockwise and the left side will be clicked anti clockwise ($$)

Madman,
I am fascinated by trimming leading edge forward. I looked at my Raptor manual and did not see anything there but I may have missed it. Can you give a bit more detail on what it does?

You will see on each side, there should be a little screw which you can loosen and allows you to turn the tip..I have seen this done plenty

It changes the angle of attack, so your bar's natural position will be pulled more to your tummy which should sort out the current issue of bar pulling ##

Also check your bungie cords...... I replaced my a while back and airspeed increased by almost 5mph. Worn-out bungies not good.....

hoop jy kom reg (^^)

Ok, nou's ek lekker deurmekaar..........

Waar presies is hierdie vertelpunte? :?:

Louwrens, kry jou trike by Nico of 'n AP. Have them go though your settings, fiddle and do a circuit.
