As a minimum 1,000 pilots have not yet renewed their MISASA membership.

By subtracting SAGPA (ARO) from the total actually shows the projected membership base of MISASA as nemo has correctly identified - 1164 to be exact!

So where are they? Will this only be rectified once their NPL's come up for renewal?

If you're not a member from a section(MISASA),your microlight license won't be legal - think off it when your family needs to claim after an accident...

Interesting figures thanks.

I would be very interested to know just how many pilots hold multiple NPL type ratings?

As much as we can do the math and state that there should be 1164 members....what about the guys/girls who hold say... WCM and LSA licenses? Or WCM and CCM...etc etc.

Although the percentage must be small...I believe there are quite a few which affect the figures in this way?

I personally know at least 5 such pilots.

RAASA is really coming up with some very useful stats! Well done.
Basic principle in management and navigation: "You can't plan where to go if you don't know where you are, first". Important first steps in place by RAASA. =D*

At a RAASA seminar last year I saw some really interesting stats with regard to number of hours flown per type per fatality.
Really interesting and bucked the trend we had in our minds. I don't have access to the slides or I would post them. Does someone?
