After flying certified for some time, I believe there is nothing to beat the
low and slow flying experience. The micro lighters have discovered a long
time ago what flying is really all about!
No more R15000+ a year for MPI's and oil changes
No more 30+ lit per hour avgas
No more seeking out long prepared runways and skipping the short unprepared
No more noise that angers the neighbours. (912S is partly water cooled and exhausts
through a very efficient silencer)
No more heavy metal standing in the hangar because you do not know where to fly to.
(You have been to all places) With the NTCA and Rattex- you can fly every day
and afford it- al is dit net om die patch!
Early morning Low and Slow is like drug that you need to go through your day-
It is like turning the clock back 100 years- Low and Slow- true aviation!
LOW AND SLOW

but were not allowed to go low and slow without being called cowboys and hooligans......... I love it
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Re: LOW AND SLOW
Couldn't agree with you more
I took off this morning and normaly I have a destination in mind , but there is something special about flying where the wind takes you
I ended up flying for 1h30 and covering 130nm only occasionally glancing at my gps I only stopped because I was running low on fuel

Re: LOW AND SLOW
I couldn’t agree more.
After getting my PPL about 10 years ago I haven’t flown a microlight since.
I have just bought an older Windlass Trike with 503, and decided that I am going to fly trikes and LSA and not bother too much with my PPL.
Just want to get back to fun basic flying.
Now to get those RAASA guys to issue my ATF and renew my trike licence.

Re: LOW AND SLOW
Hi Flooi, welcome to the world of trikes. I agree that one of the advantages of trike flying is the seat of your pants flying in open cockpit, just wafting along watching the poor souls on the ground However, at the risk of sounding like a killjoy, PLEASE fo not allow yourself to become another statistic.
Our aviation forums are littered by "good, experienced etc" pilots who end up badly hurt or worse because of flying into power lines, and even a centre pivot irrigation system some years ago.
I was very fortunate a while ago, with less than 100 hours in my logbook, when, with my son in the back seat, I was flying low, following a river when I suddenly looked up to see 3 black lines immediately ahead of me, fortunately, I was able to pull the bar in, and we went underneath - that was a wake up call of note for me
Enjoy your trike flying - trikes certainly dont have to restrict you to the cabbage patch as numerous threads on this forum will attest to
