I was disappointed to have missed out on flying into FAWB last weekend due to a flat tyre on DBP...

By all accounts however it seems like it was a great event with friendly ATC's and good food.
A unique experience for some and I really hope it will happen again next year so I can fly in this time! 8)

Two weeks to go till Potties... and yesterday the weather FINALLY gave me a break and allowed me to enjoy some stunning flying conditions with Troy. (^^)
My first decent flight in nearly two months.

BHS dam surface like glass when we flew along the Southern shores, waving at the "papgooiers" who were also up and about enjoying the beautiful morning...

So great to be able to share this with the lightie... 8)

I have created a WhatsApp group for FABA pilots going to Potties....just to co ordinate and plan our trip. (!!)

Please get in touch with me if you would like to be added. (^^) (^^)

I think this thread should be renamed to "Bundy's Thread" ;-)

Really looking forward to the Potties Trip! It'll be my first (but then again, most of these things are!).

Indeed Nick, I went to my first one two years ago, sadly missed last years due to Wx but it is without doubt one of the best fly ins... (^^)

Our Annual trip to Potties is always a highlight on my calender.... The Potties Manne and their wives/friends make this event a really special one to attend, and by all accounts it was again well attended and well organized.

It will however very sadly be remembered this year after the tragic loss of our friend and fellow "Tailwind" Nick Daniels who, together with his pax, Gavin Lewis-Walker were involved in a crash on Sat afternoon west of the airfield in mountainous and rocky terrain.
We are grateful that at least one of our dear friends was spared in this terrible accident and wish Gavin, who had to endure many hours on the mountain waiting for his rescue, a full and speedy recovery.
He was airlifted off the scene by the incredible SAR crews who came to his aid in the dark, and we must thank Adrienne Leigh who took control of the co ordinating work on the ground so swiftly and professionally...

Nick you were such a chilled, calm and friendly member of our gaggle. Always a smile on your face and an enthusiasm that infected us all. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know you and share this passion we all have for things that go up...

We are so sad chom. The two hour flight home yesterday was the longest and loneliest of my life...

Cheers my friend, I'll see you on the other side...

I am at a loss for words...
Condolences to all involved. Family, friends, fellow pilots, I share in your pain.
Speedy recovery to Gavin.

Despite the sad events of Sat, I just want to thank the Potties Manne for putting on a great Fly In.

Their hospitality is unmatched and the Potties Fly In will remain a great event to attend. :)

Thanks for all the support guys... (^^)

Sadly...I think we'll have to concede that this is like flogging a dead horse?

Microlighters has become a piece of flying history I'm afraid...it's become pointless to try and save it.. ($$)

I learnt a hell of a lot.... (!!)
It took me through my training, answered a lot of my questions and I was fortunate to make a lot of friends and good flying memories here. (^^)

I had a lot of fun... (!!)

I'll catch you around guys...

Fly safe and thanks to all of you. (^^)

Cheers for now.

Really sucks when nobody else is posting anything, many guests viewing but nobody logs on and just posts their weekend flying (**)

I do love the new look of the forum and must say it has improved a lot and I will definitely keep posting on Microlighters ##

Facebook, twitter and all the other social media's has become monotonous, microlighters is still for me a lot more entertaining than knowing what people had for breakfast and hash tag this and hash that...the only time I use twitter is when our lights go our as it seems to be the only flippin media they respond to since their helpdesk is never available :(>

Catch you in the air brother ##

(^^)
