=D* =D* =D* =D* Very, very nice. Plane fits perfect to the dessert runway (where is it?).
Hope you got some one to clean the plane after having fun. ;);)
Are you flying with attached vertex generators?

vhpy Loeriesfontein International. Yes, after a while you learn to taxi in such a way that you keep the dust away from the pointy end. AND you clean and oil those filters regular as clockwork!! An yes, VG`s fitted, and it does make a huge difference. Nobody else cleans my plane. I do it myself. Alone. The BEST pre-flight inspection you can give an aeroplane!

Fly safe. vhpy vhpy

Almost shutdown

Postby okflyer » Mon May 20, 2013 12:26 pm

Flying with on of my buddies to EDFN (Marburg) yesterday.
While joining the circuit (1700 ft) from 2000 ft. another plane (Comco Ikarus C42) crosses circuit in 1700 (also with the intention to land, but not on track) and under flying us.
https://vimeo.com/66544331
Close encounter was much much closer than it looks like (wide angle camera),
After landing other pilot confessed (but only after we studied the map together) that he was confused about the published traffic circuit and admitted that it was his first landing on this field.
He also did not announced his position on the radio while approaching the field.

Watching Suesings fantastic video again, inspires me to share one of the greatest moments of my live with you.
September 2013 I had the opportunity to do my seaplane rating in Telkeetna (Alaska)
Due to the harsh weather, it was very difficult to do all the necessary training and after I was prepared for the test, the date of the checkride had to be rescheduled twice due to poor visibility (The examiner had to fly in as well).
In between the weather cleared up for a couple of hours and we took the opportunity to take a Piper PA 22 taildragger equipped with big bush tires out to do some real Alaskan bush flying.

Due to the fantastic taildragger training I received in SA (KFA´s Komati Flight Acadamy) the owner of the plane (Don Lee) did let me do all the flying by myself (after seriously checking me out before, landing on sandbanks in the rivers and very odd hillbilly places), just guiding the way and taking control of the mixture management. (high altitude flying)
The video is a compressed cut of 2,5 hours flying in one of the most fantastic landscapes of he world.
