Put some videos of the day on you tube
1. part 1 and 2 of the landings (didnt see one bad one, lucky I drove in )
2. one of the Aeries, mainly the 'shoot outs'
3. one of the People
4. and one of the Flying
They should all be uploaded by Monday evening.
All are named "Misasa fly in Expo 2012" with the last word different.
First one is loaded at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQHtfP75 ... ature=plcp
Second is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUiiT ... detailpage
It was a wonderful day, well done MISASA Committee !
Cheers ian

What a great event. Well done to the organisers and the hosts. Your efforts weren’t unnoticed. Well supported, incident free and everyone there would not miss such another event.
As always the best part was meeting up with old mates and gaining a few more. Always a good reason to push the festivities to the max and I know many got their full money’s worth.
The guys who left early missed out on a great party. Henry from Abbot & Crab was great and hasn’t aged since I was jolling with them 30 years ago.
I learned the new meaning of a ‘man cave’ and that hangar will be the envy of Bill Gates.
If anyone picked up a cap with ‘Tumbleweed’ embroided on the back you will be rewarded with beers.
Let’s hope the traders sold lots of stock, raised their profile and sold some aerries. Judging from the response of the okes climbing out of the red TAF they will have to expand to increase production.
When is the next one?

Great event, thanks to the organizers.
We enjoyed it so much that we are still stuck at Tedder. It looks like the Woodcomp blade is seperating at the root where it goes into the alliminium hub. Waiting for manufacturer to advise. We have a new P-Prop prop being sent up today from the factory so hopefully we will be leaving tomorrow. I picked this up while cleaning the plane. It just confirms the old saying that a pilot should clean his own plane every now and then, it will be the best pre-flight you have ever done. Don't let Sipho do it all the time.

Re: MISASA Tedderfield "Spoilt for Choice Fly In / Expo"
What can I say, brilliant, a great day and met so many faces to put names to. Well done to the entire MISASA committee and other planners. I didnt meet the aircraft "traders" as we didnt stop from the moment we got there. I sincerely hope that this event has kick started some more enthusiasm into recreational aviation in whatever form..
We are now seriously considering going to the Swellendam event as we have many customers in the Cape that we just dont know...
A big thank you for all your support.
and from now on Empangeni is to be the Catering corps...now that will be a fly in !

But i am not certified or anything.
No worries - used to do ground control at Wonderboom.
Will maybe go for certification one day.

I cannot say how much I enjoyed the whole event.
Have not laughed so much in a very LOOONG time .
Was really great putting names to faces and realising we are all in the same boat, AWSOME AWSOME friendships put in stone now for life.
As to the Chain gang I think that as soon as i find the right pic this was the confirmation and the actual creation of the group.
Even the flight home was awsome. Very rough at times but worth every minute.
MISASA i have a new respect for you - I will now support you fully and in everything i can.

Re: MISASA Tedderfield "Spoilt for Choice Fly In / Expo"
Hi All,
Firstly to the organisers, what a great event... Even though I did not get to meet as many people as I had hoped... I had a great day... I regret not being able to stay into the evening, but I suppose such is life...
The presentation by Santjie was one of my highlights, knowing now exactly what the ins and outs are in the rescue scene, and knowing how passionate she is about what she does, makes me feel much safer... Especially with her attitude about not ever wanting to get the call, but being ever grateful to hear our voices if we have forgotten to cancel SAR...
How many guys took the opportunity to chat to Rob Thomas who was there from Mountain Club SAR? It didn't hurt that I already know Rob, but he has a huge knowledge of things that have happened in the past, and what sort of things they have had to do to pull wrecked airies off mountainsides... Definitely time well spent...
Braam's briefing from a non flyer of the day was very informative, and to the point...
I would like to make a suggestion to the companies selling aircraft... well on the "lower" end of the scale, and that would be in future events like these, outside of your presentation times, make a more concerted effort to be visible... I will soon be buying a trike, and found little to attract my attention, so either I was not looking hard enough, or the guys were not visible enough...
Once again though, thanks to John and the rest of the team... Especially the guys doing the catering duty... hard work, and much much appreciated...
Cheers
Craig

Good Afternoon to all;
What a wonderful day and evening. So happy to have seen old faces and so happy to put names to new faces... The food was great, the drinks were great... the music wonderful; the presentations I did attend, thanks for your information. The Planes "oh so beautiful" - the flip I had with James in the Red Sling - WOW - thanks so much. To Michelle and Cheryl - thanks for letting me share your hangar and a juicy bottle of wine ... I was going to sleep in my car "ouch" ... but I slept next to a beautiful yellow Sling 4 on a lovely bunk... you girls rock.
Can't wait for the next one...
Have a wonderful week...
Fly Safe Always...
Linda

Great feedback thus far on the event. I would really like to thank every Misasa member that helped here but especially Alan Mackenzie. It was a great initiative and any of my doubts were quickly dissolved when I arrived at the airfield on Friday afternoon and realised just how much effort and downright hard work he put into this. I doff my cap sir!!
I'm sure this thing will grow into an annual event that will just get bigger and better.
I must admit to a massive hangover on Sunday morning but it was well worth it!!
