Rwy Direction Emerg: 11 / 29 - dis-used “Solitude” runway to the south of Tedderfield hangars
Rwy Length: 600 x 8 m Asphalt
Elevation: 5 200ft
Freq: 125.6 Mhz
Today’s Temp: Check
Pilots Briefing, Time & Place: Saturday morning 4 Feb 2012 @ 09h00
Funday start time: Saturday 4 Feb 0800 @ 08h00
HOW TO FLY THE CIRCUIT AT TEDDERFIELD AIRPARK
• APPROACHING THE CIRCUIT
When approaching the airfield and you want to join the circuit, call your position and intentions from at least five miles out at 6 500 ft at the current QNH. Then initiate a descent to the point where you will join the circuit so as to end up at 6200 ft.
(Hint: talk to other pilots in the circuit to establish which runway is in use or simply listen out)
• APPROACH FROM THE NORTH
The approach from the North is from the North Western side of the airfield, not directly over Hippo Quarries. The approach is shown on our map by the green line which would allow you to either join on a left hand base for runway 11 or a right hand downwind for runway 29.
When approaching from the West, aim to be about one or two miles north of our downwind leg, which is directly above the R554. The approach is shown on our map by the orange line and allows you to either join on a left hand base for runway 11 or a right hand downwind for runway 29.
When approaching from the East, aim to be one or two miles north of our downwind leg, which is directly above the R554. The approach is shown on our map by the purple line and allows you to join either a right hand base for runway 29 or a left hand downwind leg for runway 11.
When approaching from the South, maintain 6500 ft and fly directly over the clubhouse and then descend to 6200 ft to join either a left downwind leg for runway 11 or a right downwind leg for runway 29. The approach is shown by the light blue line on our map
Should you be returning from a cross country and you are not able to determine wind direction from smoke in the area or from the use of your GPS or because there is no activity at the airfield, then revert to the standard joining procedure and call at about 5 miles out that you will be joining overhead at 6500 ft. Once overhead, you will be able to decide which runway to use and will fly towards the downwind leg, which is directly over the R554, aiming to arrive on downwind at 6200 ft and complete the circuit in the normal manner. When this is the case, you may over fly the threshold on runway 11 when approaching from the West or the threshold on runway 29 when approaching from the East, but always at 6500 ft.

Re: MISASA Tedderfield "Spoilt for Choice Fly In / Expo"
Hi guys,
Unfortunately we had to turn around at Nelspruit. The oil temp was running in the red and we could not climb over the mountains. After lots of fiddle and deliberation as to what the trouble is we decided that the aircraft was fine before so it could be the temp sender. We changed the oil temp sender at Nelspruit and tried again, same result. We decided to head back to Komati rather than take chances. On arival at the factory we got to work and modified the oild cooler intake and I test flew again with a little better results but still not satis. It turned out that we had to much oil in the plane Which was the reason for the high temps. Note to self, remeber to check that the jabi is not overfilled. Looks like all is Ok now but time has caught up with us. We will now leave komati at 04h50 in the morning. Hope the weather holds. We are really looking forward to getting there.

Fly safe Stefan! If the weatherman is to be believed, you should have a nice little tail wind to bring you through to TF!KFA wrote:Hi guys,

Sorry to sound like a damp squib, but if not holding a current & valid ATC certificate with ATNS, no ATC service may be provided. Hi guys, first of all to the microlighters that did not make it to Tedderfield today sorry for you, you missed out on a fantastic outing. To MISASA , guys and girls who organised this event "awesome awesome . I hope that this will enspire you to do more fly ins and sleep overs in the near future. This showed me that the microlighters enjoy events like this. The highlight of the day for me was takinging the sky diver up what an experiance. Once again I can say what a super bunch of people microlighters are, I enjoyed chatting to all.
Safe flying to all that are flying home tomorrow. May the angles fly with you.

Re: MISASA Tedderfield "Spoilt for Choice Fly In / Expo"
A big thank you to all who attended the Shootout
I stand to be corrected but I think the total aircraft count was around 120? What a mix too! Fixed wings, gyros, a very interesting soaring trike....a helicopter, balloons.....sheesh what a lekker day
A monumental effort by the Commitee members and despite a few hiccups, I think a great event took place.
I may have sampled a few too many Rum and cokes last night!
My "hanger buddies" also hid my mattress from me hahaha....
Take note!... Never sneak off for a pee behind Brett's Car.....he will let the alarm go off while you are busy and embarress the crap out of you!
Thanks guys, I had a great time!
