I would for sure

Postby John Young » Thu Mar 09, 2006 4:34 pm

I would for sure. Am K@King off with a monster of a spreadsheet. Taking a smoke break.

Got an SMS which reads …

“KITTY HAWK FLYINN 11/03. ALL WELCOME. PLSE APPROACH FROM EAST. DO NOT APPROACH FROM WEST. CALL 5 MILES OUT ON 120.65 FOR JOINING & LANDING INSTR. ATS ON DUTY. Sender +027828916455”

Any idea ‘wots’ that about? Where’s Kitty Hawk anyway?

I would love to be flying, but if I took off now I would be in Malmesbury in about 5 minutes with this damn South Easter:twisted:

AeroWhachi thing expired

Postby John Young » Thu Mar 09, 2006 4:59 pm

Hi Morph & Demon,

Rather than start a whole new post, thought that I would just “slip in here”.

The link to Aviation Terms in Hanger Talk – that “AeroWhacki Thing” expired earlier this month.

Was trying to look up Kitty Hawk.

Krusty – you out there to help Boet? Hey, I see that I got a star.

Yip afternoons have been superb, had ground school lastnight and got there 2 hours early @ 1700. Was very upset  as I got many pics and videos of all the trikes +-8 flying around doing "stunts" and cool touchngos, hovers etc. For over an hour I sat oogling, was busier than weekends!

I SO wish I was up there...haven't piloted myself in almost 4 weeks, the days I was meant to go rain etc :(

AYV sold early January, I last flew with Larry at Grahamstown when I did a good solid hour with him in a Windlass - doing conversion and that was also early in Jan.

Tomorrow my partners and I are taking our Windlass ZS-WRG to Klipriver to prepare for annual inspection etc and to check that all our glitches are sorted. We might still decide to get the wing checked out by Jenya. I'll get pic's and start a new thread with this story soon.

Otherwise, be safe everyone.

Just enjoyed a great flip today 10h00 till 11h00.

Had a pax taking promo photos. Little bumpy, swirling, but no one else in the air.

Total silence, frequently checking if the radio was on. Must be the bliks stranded with no fuel. :)

Watched cloud formation building, within 15 minutes of landing had these lelik dark things hanging over. Perfect timing, and nice to watch everyone working from the air.

Friday afternoon flying

Postby Tjoek » Fri Mar 10, 2006 6:21 pm

Had best of intention to fly this afternoon. Last meeting started at 14:30, and I promised myself if it finishes by 16:00, I will go fly. Meeting ended 16:00, but got stuck in traffic on my way to field. Hopefully tomorrow morning it will only be air traffic, and not road traffic, I have to deal with.

OK sorry to upset those who did not fly.
Hi Demon now that you have your machine back I trust that you are pleased and satified, so when will younow fly, weather is good. Ja from Thursday morning I have been at it for the solo GF and the first nav is now on the cards, beautiful flying in the morning, smooth as a babies bum.
Well I am now getting closer to the licence thing and looking forward to that.
