New North Coast LSA and Microlight airfield

Postby lamercyfly » Wed Oct 20, 2010 4:04 pm

Hi folk.

After almost 18months of haggling and negotiating, I am pleased to announce that Groutville Airfield will officially be open as of 1 November.

There is currently 1 hangar bay available for a weight shift trike.

If you are interested in moving into the bay, kindly contact me on 084 2663359 or reply to this topic.

Also kindly take note that Transponders are NOT required at Groutville.

We will do our utmost to accomodate visiting pilots for December.....

Facilities available include fuel (a walk away at the Ultra City), a microlight and LSA training school, and an AP and light service facility.

Groutville is conveniently situated on the N2 just 7 minutes north of Ballito, at the Umvoti Ultra City. Groutville falls outside of the King Shaka CTR, and is a 1 minute flight from the beach. A flight to Blythdale and back takes 20 minutes in a trike, and to Princes Grant and back is 25 minutes, and to Zinkwazi and back takes 35 minutes. A flight up the coast to visit the boys at Isithebe/Mandini takes 50 mnutes 1 way........

.......... all in all, absolutely great news for the sport..... vhpy

I trust that all the doomsayers will graciously take a bow out of the arena now ## :)

Kind regards to all.

David Daniel

Well done Dave & Co

Compliments to you for activating a new airfield when they are closing down around us all the time!
(16 Right)

I will certainly make a point of dropping in on my next visit to KZN to come and say hi!

Best wishes with your endeavour (^^)
