New Boat Anchor at Rhino

Postby The Agent » Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:23 pm

Heard a rumour that a Subaru engine was avaiable as a boat anchor as it was thrown out of a Savannah.

Now you guys are putting in a real engine, a Rattex works well on the Savannah.

I would still like to see the Jabiru 6 go in there.

Nou toe Johan en Rudi laat ons weet waneer die ou nou gaan vlieg, ek het julle gese dis n kak engin daai boat anchor een. (^^) puff ($$) ($$) ($$)

Yes, the Boat Anchor is gone, swapped for a nice new Warp 3 blade prop!

I will be doing my Savannah conversion this coming weekend, fun times ahead, all those little strips I had to bypass in the past will now be visited and Johan can start his training as soon as the proving hours have been flown.

Here is the baby ready to accept a new engine, I am busy sorting the cowling out so we are getting there.

Geen probleem Brian, eintlik het ek niks teen 'n Volla nie, solank die conversion reg gedoen is en hy word nie te hoog ge-rev nie werk dit goed.

I am sure there was something wrong with it after it threw a blade (@ 10 hours), never developed enough power again to fly the plane even though it was running smoothly.

It was also quite heavy, thet large battery had to be installed in the tail to get the CofG within specs.

After flying the 912S powered Savannah I know that power will now be no problem vhpy
