So according to this thread it comes down to this...

MISASA vs Aero Club
African Pilot vs SA Flyer
Microlighters vs Avcom ($$)
What's next, bliks vs samoosas? ##
Last time I checked, we all share the same sky

I'm done with this....it's time to check the weather and fly! (!!)
You forgot us aviation photographers. Canon vs Nikon.

Athol Terence
Well I know of one... some years ago they had an article on microlights used in crop spraying.

I know it as I was the author of that article...

Also recent a very nice article about the German couple that did their license, bought trikes and flew them back to Germany.

Athol, clearly you are missing the point ... I wrote the above. Understand this that most of the chaps that frequent microlighters.co.za are also AVCOM users. You immediately turn the situation around and go do exactly that what I asked not to happen. Aaaag no man ##
John but you can get upset on a Friday :?:

Can we ask the mods to put an Avatar on Athol's account for him....I have got a picture.          (^^) One with Athol in a champagne glass

Athol , I find it strange that when asked questions re the Aeroclub mag ,you reply about Guy Leach , in busines its a principle not to badmouth te opposition , and vice versa for Guy , you were both respected magazine , but ......................................
You didnt answer who was sharing in the profit on the mag ???
You have not apologised to the farming community pilots who feed you , time to grow up and admit when you made a "mistake" , I see nor reason why the person who supposedly made the stement about Microlights isnt named , mabe your big buddy with whom you shared the front row at the AGM .????
Aeroclub deserve another wally award for sure for not coming clean on the Fundi system , they new exactly beforehand what was the outcome of the system , a week before the AGM they tried to sort out a year long non performing system ????- a sort of coverup I would say - Bullshit the GM should be fired for not performing his duties as prescribed in the code of conduct - The blue sky initiative bullshit once again , Wally you need to dream on , who do you think is going to fund it and manage it .
But time will tell well see if youre there next year Leprachaun

This thread has reached a saturation point for me. We all seem to agree that AeCSA has its work / expectations cut out for them over the next year. Please, do not disappoint us. GL and AF, do not stop positive but critical introspection of the ball, and not the player/s behind the ball. "Ball" being the Wright Brothers dream ... being able to soar !

OK then, This thread is now officially closed for the weekend (for me) and will be open for business on Monday at 08h00 (for me) (**) (^^) .

Almal voertsek nou en go fly for the weekend. That's in fact how we all met on this forum anyway ... through flying !

Got to go, after this week my Twinsavers stock is low, my lipstick is dripping down my laptop screen and Spar opened a shop in Brakpan next to Tops.

As for Nikon vs Canon, Blik vs Tupperware, Tupperware vs Lap en pap, SAF vs AP, Rum vs Coke, Rattex vs Timex Lycomings ... get a grip !!
21st December is on us ...

Soentjies en drukkies,

"One major gripe I had with the event is the blatant lack of discipline that exists among the microlight community. I was appalled at the people walking around among aircraft with engines running. I also spoke to a bunch of weight-shift thugs about the blatant disregard for the regulations about smoking among aircraft. I got a lot of lip from some arrogant fool. When I reacted with serious authority, they just dropped their burning cigarettes on the ground. When I turned away, I glanced back and they had simply picked up their burning fags and carried on smoking. Why do so many of them crash - simple, a lack of respect for the regulations that are there to protect them from their own stupidity."

As a passionate microlighter I take HUGE exception to this statement from whoever penned it. Guy has seemingly attributed this to Athol but who knows where it originates?? It's a disgusting and, to be honest, arrogant rambling from some ignorant IDiOT who was a guest of Misasa at Tedderfield!! Shame on you ##
