Not sure where you got that information - but unfortunately not the case. It has largely been gutted though. The worst of the provisions (safety audits, and compliance to unspecified CATS) have been removed. And changed to an on-line process.

Going back to committee on 13th for further debate. Still some big fights ahead (but still a few months out):
139.01 - Will become illegal to land anywhere but a registered or licensed airfield. No more pans, farm roads, beaches, etc.
139.05 - Licensing for all airfields with commercial activities or training.

The CAA is determined to ram this stuff through, and it will still take a concerted effort by the whole of GA to save our freedoms.

Justin... I'm really not about to get into a war of words or tussle with you or any one else. Maybe I should just refrain from saying anything in future, albeit in shorthand.

Put on Ice - means just that - sent back for deliberation (various parts) ... Withdrawn - It has largely been gutted to use your words...

The point in case is - it is not a done deal - either way ... and I am sure those those that I have spoken to understood my short message!

No law by CAA can instruct my engine to quit over registered airfields only. (**)

You remember my argument iro Eagle's Creek when a chap had a radio failure.... it can be how private and no-no not allowed to, an emergency always takes precedence!

It's the old story they want to milk the cow completely dry and slaughter the goose that's laying the golden eggs. It's also happening in the hunting business. Game Farmers with the new proposed law will have to have Registered and regulated butcheries. What happens when a client shoots a Kudu up in the mountains or in a valley where it has to be quartered to be able to transport it. Hygiene is of utmost importance so yes all necessary precautions must be taken but some laws are just ridiculous. If it ain't broken don't fix it. but the question remains what if anything have the current government be able to fix or maintain so far?
