I had a very positive experience with RAASA and my application for renewal of ATF.

First I phoned them, talked to Brian, explained to him my request and got his email address and the amount I had to pay. Then did an EFT and got the bank to email him the proof of payment. Then scanned the documents, including my copy of the proof of payment, and emailed them directly to him. He almost immediately answered by email that documents are aqll OK and I can post the originals by registered mail to RAASA. Snailmail with all the holidays took the longest but on the same day Brian received my documents (I could check since I had a tracking number) he processed them and sent me a copy of the ATF by e-mail and posted the original by registered surface mail. (!!) (^^) Siabonga, Brian.

So, if you do not live near Rand and can do it yourself during your lunchtime, this system works well. I am sure we can fly on the e-mailed copy of the ATF, since it has been ISSUED, and hence legal. vhpy

Hi Olga,

Was nice meeting you the other day. I also agree that the service is good. What concerns me is the way of making money. Renewing the license every 2 years, what is that all about. By all means go and fly with an instructor every two years, so he can check you out and make sure you are all good, but having your license renewed and paying everytime for a new piece of paper and waiting around for this to be done. Agree with Nacho. Why pay to have the new printout done when the Instructor has already endorced your log-book?? Whether done annually or bi-annually doesn't make sense.
