samoosa simulator lol ???
hi guys
proud samoosa pilot wannabe / in training here...
just wondering if you guys know of any good flight simulators that have trike's on them?
i would like to practice doing circuits & mostly getting the hang of the radio calls (without walking around my living room table calling down-wind's etc )
thanks & cheers

The best simulator is a broom! The flight sims use 3-axis controls

Re: samoosa simulator lol ???
Hi there.
There isn't really much for us samoosas, but I find that the Air Creation trike used in MS Flight Sim X Acceleration isn't too bad.
If it's realistic controls you're looking for, it's a bit far off but it's ok for circuit training & radio calls.
I'm using the Logitech force3d pro joystick atm. Not ideal, but it's a start.
I'm playing around with the idea of making a proper bar style control, but until FS gets better with the feel of the controls, I'm not gonna do it too soon.
You need a good pc and graphics card tho. Also visit the virtual aviation section on Avcom. The guys there are really helpful in getting your scenery set up to be more realistic.
Good luck!

Re: samoosa simulator lol ???
thanks a broom would make me look even more awesome going round the living room table!
i was just wondering if say:
- one takes a normal 3 axis simulator with joystick
- turn the joystick on it's head and fix it to your roof
- build a triangle out of wooden dowels / 3 broomsticks
- fix the triangle to the upside-down joystick
voila! samoosa simulator!?

BUT
There is a guy on the Avcom forum who designs scenery and airfields who might do a few of the airfields for you if you ask him nicely.
He did do Rhino Park scenery for me. PM me when you're set up and I'll send you the add on file

Screen capture of me in FSX flying toward Rhino Park in the Air Creation (forgive the lack of visual detail, as I re-formatted my pc, so I haven't loaded the Africa Mesh yet. Just the basic airfields & Rhino Park):

Re: samoosa simulator lol ???
anthonyhugo, just take the money that you want to spent on building a nice simulator and use it for training...believe me; you will enjoy it more!!!
Rather use a joystick for now...
