Re: NORTH / SOUTH 2013
Thank you for promoting recreational flying, but this year I will have to skip as my budget does not allow for it, hopefully next time!" And we wished us all the best.

Re: NORTH / SOUTH 2013
Personaly I will not pay R3750 pp to stay four days anywhere.
To the pilots that can afford it, enjoy and have fun!
Compared to Gariep, we as a group slept for R125 pppn.

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
Hi Darren I have been enjoying the UFO, flying all over. Currently busy replacing the rotor head with the latest technology Wagtail has to offer, including hydraulic pre rotator, which was a great concern.(could only pre rotate to 130rpm) did not like the possibility of rotor flap with the 33" rotor...

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
It good to hear from you again Nic. Good question, I most likely would have carried on anyway. You know what it is like, the adventure and challenge of the project was inviting, I could not resist. The UFO was under dust ect. The thought that this thing can actually fly. What I did not know, was the...

Re: New Airfield in Hartbeespoort
What is the progress on this runway? Can't wait to come and visit! Hopefully the runway will be finnished by the end of Feb. The northern part of the runway is usable, there are 2 white lines crossing the runway at the southern side to give an indication of useable runway, from the two lines to the...

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
Finaly, the UFO has flown its maiden voyage home. We did endurance flights this last week and double checked preformance, fuel consumption, rate of climb and the reliability of the last 18 months modifications. These stats have been recorded during test flights. Fuel consumption has been 31l at 70mp...

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
You aint seen no gyro till you've seen this one. You have to double take at first and then pinch yourself It is a monster It has space inside the bubble for an entire family. The engine is a brute that growls at the pisswillie rattaxes. It takes a healthy gulp of fuel and then gobbles up the runway...

Also place it then under Hangar Talk so that all us trike pilots also can be informed I will do as soon as the runway is ready for use. We had the trees removed a week ago, which left a lot of holes and roots from the trees. Total useable runway lenth is 850m and 30m wide. The grader finnished toda...
