I'll try and dig up the contact no's tomorrow. Haven't done Gobabis myself, but spoken to 2 persons who have cleared there in the past.
Will check if it was with special arrangements

Re: Otjiwarango
Tinks, You can clear customs in Jwaneng, so no need for pilansberg - gaberone, you can do pilansberg - jwaneng direct . Just arrange customs at jwaneng - no can be forwarded if still an option. Kang has a tar runway but no fuel. However - the Kang fuel stop is less than 2 km from the field and there...

Re: Bird Strike
I do think the stage of flight is relevant as well. A dove / small bird I would imagine can't do much damage - worth however doing a decent inspection as soon as possible. The meatier birds (heavier birds) can however provide more stress. I should think that the rotor would be able to cut through th...

Re: What would be the/your perfect Gyro??
Apart from the RAF (Upington assembly) which gyro's are truly SA Built?
Sycamore is not built/available new anymore.
Doubt that there's any SA built gyro's vs imported and partly / final SA assembled. (if that makes sense)

Re: WCM Student in need of training Thabazimbi area
There is a flight school in Thabazimby.
I've seen a Bantam there..... Maybe, just maybe they do WCM as well.
Owner is Wynand (Besuidenhoudt????) if I remember correctly.
Don't have his no unfortunately.

A BIG thank-you to every-one involved with this beginning of the year breakfast fly-in.
The food was once again top-notch, both in quality and quantity.
Nice meeting up with every-one again.

Re: Solar-Heat pump or just the geyser
Anyone had a look at these "new" induction type geasers?
Still uses electricity - but so much more effectively ( alledgedly)
And the cost isn't THAT much higher than a normal geaser.

You get a adapter that plugs into the radio. The headphones plug into this them. ( I'll take a pic later and attached)
Bought mine at wonderboom if I remember correctly.
Mine was however to 2 GA plug ( for headphones) , but they did have afapters to a single pin as well.

Re: 14 Dec LONG weekend Fly-Away to ELANDS Quad Camp
Just a thought. Is it not possible to get 1 airplane with a transponder and then fly as a "gaggle" / formation with this plane. Or at least until you're all out of the Notam zone. Surely there's at least one plane (bantam, kit fox, cubby etc) that's got a transponder!!!! You should be able to "file"...

Re: Single seater gyros
Gyro's somehow ends up like family - you complain about them, but you never( OK -seldom) get rid of them.
So rather look at your needs over the longer period.
