Re: Could this be the beginning of the end

You echo my observations. I see fewer microlights flying over my farm in the Cradle of Humankind. In previous years there were numerous aircraft overhead over weekends to my delight, now I am lucky to see any at all. I have also noticed the lack of life on this forum. I have spent the last 10 years ...

Hi,
Go to Search and type in "Rotax 2 stroke pulse pump". There is a string on this question.

Re: Low Flying over Game Farm

Hi guys, Thanks for all the comments. Just for the record, there were 4 microlights and I am told that they came right down almost to ground level. I did not see them myself but these were not guys just over-flying the game farm. Microlights frequently fly over here and no one is complaining about t...

Re: Low Flying over Game Farm

Hi Tumbleweed,
A large part, probably most, of the Cradle of Humankind is devoted to game farms/nature reserves so there is no point in singling out a particular property.

Low Flying over Game Farm

Hi guys, This message is for those idiots who were flying a few metres above the ground over a game farm in the Cradle of Humankind WHS this morning. The owner is fuming and threatening to report AC registration marks to the CAA. As I am sure you know the low flying frightens the game which often th...

Re: Flying Flea - Help with prop sought

Hi Thanks for the nice comments! Costs? It has been 10 years in the making (and I thought I would do it in 2 years!),I tell my wife it costs less than it does to play golf but she says I don't play golf - but then women don't understand logic. I started off listing the costs but soon dropped the ide...

Flying Flea - Help with prop sought

Construction of my Flying Flea is now complete and I ran the engine today for the first time. See photo. The engine is a Rotax 503 UL DCDI fitted with a 3,06 :1 belt drive reduction. Naively I thought I would be able to use a P Prop (70x45) designed for use with a 3.47 :1 reduction drive but the hig...

Re: EGT Wiring

Hi Paul, Thanks for the info. My gauge was given to me, it is a 2 1/8" dual analogue meter, make unknown, possibly Chinese. I got the probes from Skydat. They are the screw in type. I have connected them with the crimped connectors which I also got from Skydat. I had no idea that there were so many ...

Re: EGT Wiring

I connected up today and applied heat to the probes and can now confirm that the yellow wires go to pin no's 1 and 3, and the red wires to pin no's 4 and 5. As I said above, pins 1 and 5 serve one meter and 3 and 4 the other one.
So all is well now!
Thanks again,
Roy

Re: EGT Wiring

Thanks, KFA, I have now established that 1 and 5 serve one meter and 3 and 4 the other one. A bit surprising! I did this using a multi-tester set to measure resistance - could have done it with a battery too.Tomorrow I will connect the probes and apply some heat to them and establish which way round...

EGT Wiring

I need some help! I am fitting a dual EGT gauge to a Rotax 503, plus 2 new probes. The pins on the gauge are numbered 1, 3, 4 and 5. No's 3 and 4 pins are close together and I am guessing that 1 and 3 are for one meter and 4 and 5 are for the other one?? Each probe has a red and a yellow wire and my...
