NEW Frequency morningstar
Guys please help, a few days ago I was hammered by a ground station as I was approaching Morningstar, I was transmitting on TIBA East 124.8, the station was a bit unfriendly in telling me off  and that it is now included in the Delta 200 124.4 So in the line of uncertainty I was monitoring bo...

Re: Compulsory Registration of Aerodromes
Justin... I'm really not about to get into a war of words or tussle with you or any one else. Maybe I should just refrain from saying anything in future, albeit in shorthand. Put on Ice - means just that - sent back for deliberation (various parts) ... Withdrawn - It has largely been gutted to use ...

John had his first flight in Gyro
Well today was a very special day I had the company of the best Engineer on African soil drop in at FAFK to do some inspections and make some fine adjustments to RDY. http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/captaingreg1/house%20pics%20dec%204%20031_zpshhedsztc.jpg Naturally I rewarded him with flig...

Re: !!!! SAGPA AGM !!!!
as a possible local get together I would be prepared to demonstrate some basic first line maintenance things to some guys if we planned a local get together in the Cape? if any are interested? How many guys just fly and have little understanding of the machine they fly, imagine your on a flight and ...
Re: True?
As someone said, "I hate it when that happens". Seriously though, that guy was lucky. It appears a bearing in the rotor head was installed upside down. A fatality in SA occurred many years ago for the same reason. FO the accident that claimed Klopper's life a few years ago (before my basic understa...

Xenon flying over CT - at last
So I thought I would share some pics taken from the Xenon flying over CT this past weekend. With it behaving nicely we set about a few scenic flights. This is a pic of that ship that has been burning in the Harbor for a few days. http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/captaingreg1/November%206%20G...

Re: Xenon trouble again
So having to assemble the head had me calling a few tool companies for a spanner like this http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/captaingreg1/October%2025%20year%202016%20006_zps1ojoi8sp.jpg faaark not easy to get and impossible to assemble the head without it, because the castle nut needs to be ...

Re: Xenon trouble again
And??? How did the test flight go? Rgds F The test flights were not as good as I had hoped, the bearing now replaced and the control surfaces (roll & pitch) rebuilt to remove the slight play they offered when I stripped it down did add a significant improvement, but I am still concerned about the s...

Re: Xenon trouble again
Thanks HB, I to was concerned about the heat as you refer to, I used very little to just break the bearing seal from the old lock tight. Johan Van Ludwig advised this as well as the OEM manual, but in reality the bearing required very little pressure from the press. The teeter tower was stil cool en...

Xenon trouble again
I thought I would post some info of my ongoing woe's with the xenon... Seen in my previous thread wherein I rebuilt the Xenon I documented in great detail what I found, what I liked, and what I thought were good and bad, along the way I made new Friends and further alienated myself from some other q...
