Re: Honest pilots
Sorry forgot to add. We actually have the title deed to our property. We don't lease the land from the municipality like most of the airfields in the country.

Re: Honest pilots
The fee of R50 is for single engine aircraft over 430kg. Microlights only pay R20. The flying club owns the ground in Hoedspruit and the municipality has no input on the property. They are asking rates and taxes the same as they do any other piece of property in Hoedspruit. Half of the property is z...

Re: Honest pilots
As i said before we are TOTALLY self funded. Someone must pay to keep the airfield in a good condition. This obviously costs. I don't make have the say of what landing fees are. But the fact is the landing fees is R50.00. If you are not prepared to pay this then use an alternate airport. We also pay...

I agree anyone can make a mistake the measure is how do they rectify their mistakes. Willem is very good at rectyifying and admitting if he is wrong which is no...

Re: Radio Licence
In my expriance you learn very little on how to use a radio practicall during your radio course. i agree the best is to fly with your mates and let them help out on the radio if you get stuck. the radio cd is a very big help.

Flying in Zimbabwe
Does anyone know if a licence is required to fly a microlight in Zimbabwe? I have been told that you don't need a licence to fly there. This seems strange but anything can happen in an African country.
