Trike instructors - December season
Hi folk, tis that time of year .. I will be needing some help over the Xmas/New year period for intro flights. Our busy period is 22 Dec till about 5 Jan. Before and after that we manage just fine. If the growth rate for the past 3 seasons sustains, I will need at least 4 pilots this year.. If you a...

Louie Trichardt airfields
Hi folk.
Anyone out there got space for a fixed wing microlight to hangar and operate out of the airfield doing local 'sky touring' for about 1 month. For an overseas visitor who is bringing his plane out in a container. All CAA approved and above board.
Regards.
David

Re: RAASA ATF
Gert, you need form 24.2(b), for subsequent renewals. You are looking at 24.2(a), for INITIAL ATF applications:))

Re: KALAHARI BUNDU BASH 2013
Hi Yolande.
I will shortly be confirming numbers from Comefly Microlights on the North Coast. We are flying up in trikes. So far, 3 trikes confirmed (3 pilots no pax), and possibly a 4th trike(also no pax). Will confirm and pay deposits by mid next week latest.
Kind regards and thankyou.

Re: the law surrounding part 96
:)) sorry, one last thought I forgot to mention, is that when I refer to a potential student, as allowed under the current CAR's, I mean a potential student FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE ATO!. I don't give a hoot if the pax does not consider themselves a potential student. It is up to me to conduct ...

Re: the law surrounding part 96
Hi Folk, interesting answers and thoughts:). But, this just brings me back to the questions that begs an answer, namely, WHY do MISASA and AeCSA not stand united in formulating a nationally endorsed method of learing up any 'grey' area surrounding doing these lesson 3 Air Experience flights. Eg, sky...

Re: Motorcycle helmet on trike + proper seatbelt
..the inertia type seat belt for the front pilot, as used in the Cobra, is actually a nightmare! Yes, a nightmare. I aborted a journey from Durban to Jo'burg in a 912 Cobra because of the interia seatbelt. Landed at a farm outside Newcastle and called it a stop! Try flying in very thermic sky, and w...

Re: the law surrounding part 96
Hi Len and others. Thanks for what you are doing Len, although I am sceptical with regard the cost mentioned. Keep us posted. I am also concerned as, in a way, you may be opening a loop hole for CAA to enforce this on all of us... Much rather that we found the solution within Part 141, regardless of...

Re: Discovered in an old file: 1910 microlight?
Actually Bundy, weight shift flexwings are the most modern design concept in aviation. You are correct in that power and technology has improved the basic design of the fixed wing aircraft, BUT, flexwings are the most modern invention. I read a few years back in the New Scientist, that flexwing was ...

Re: the law surrounding part 96
Hi folk. I am not aware, ever, of any mention of forcing ATO's to get their instructors Part 96 Autho'd so their ratings can be validated. NTCA ops is totally different to the Blik stuff. So, no, Part 62 Instructor rating is a rating independent of Part 96 Autho's. Part 96 was created to allow for c...

Re: the law surrounding part ]
Hi Skybound. You directed your question to Craig, but I am going to give your question a shot... A school can not apply for a part96 Authorisation. It is like saying to an owner of a part 141 ATO for PPL training, "how many schools have applied for commercial pilot licences"... Same thing. Part 96 A...

Re: the law surrounding part 96
Hello Grumpy.. like I said, there is no better way than using training schools: 1. It is already a CAA approved organization, receiving regular audits. 2. You are using instructors - already approved to receive renumeration. 3. Instructors, already extra flight training has been received. To become ...
