Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

Been battling to get a flight in and at last this morning the weather gave a brief break for a few hours. Fantastic smooth flight for an hour and a half....had my fix. See you all tomorrow at the braai. I unfortunately have to be back in Pretoria by 12:15 at the latest.

Re: Garmin GPS

Unlike Car, on road, navigation, in Aviation GPS's, Land Data must be limited to what is absolutely relevant for Visual referencing navigation. Detail is regarded as clutter and must be excluded or filtered out by zoom levels and/or selectable levels of detail. In the Land Data map, for lines/polygo...

Re: Garmin GPS

Yes, SoLo, that is precisely it. The USA base map is pre-loaded in the USA bought Garmin GPS's and cannot be changed. On later models, where ROM size was less restricted, the whole World Map was loaded as a base map. From your pictures it looks like you have one of the later models. Unfortunately th...

Re: Swartkop Airshow May 2017

Unfortunately not.

I sent Les, McFly, an e-mail, which is all I have, and he has not replied.

If Andre would be so kind as to include us in his arrangements it would be great.

Re: Aquilla Faring

I hope Gerrit gets one of these fairings onto the market. I have one from Solo Wings on my Aquila and it is really great. There are a few pilots that I know of that are interested. Some have even made molds of mine, but I have never seen one made. Put it this way, the fairing is far more useful than...

We will still post general announcements here, but as you can see, there aren't many. If you want to join the group then ple...
