Re: That game of darts...

Ok, Great. At least we're all in agreement then. He did say ...merely changes the rotor blade Angle of Incidence and gyroscopic precession (and thus the disc attitude change) occurs ... Exploring and trying to best understand rotor dynamics can't possibly do anyone any harm when flying Gyro's. =D*

Re: Trike night flying

I have a friend who has flown with a friend in a black trike at night. In the low veld. It was awesome, he tells me. 8) This same friend had to help balance rotors when tip-lights were used and quite a few night circuits were flown in a Gyro, with the necessary approval of course, I am told. ...

Re: Converting from LSA to Gyro

To be clear. To use the credit for the ppl one need only go 15 hours dual and 5 hours solo? Rob, unless I am wrong (which is known to happen), the way I see it interpreted is that you require a minimum of 20 hours of which a minimum of 10 must be dual and a minimum of 10 must be solo in order to qu...

Congratulations Weedy!

I predict you'll be logging a lot less Heli hours. ;-)

I wish you many safe and happy hours of affordable flying.

Re: Tandem vs Side by Side; Perfect vs Ideal.

Just for the record... ... The Calidus took 15 ltrs, the MTOS took 10 more. Upon further investigation and consideration, the following became apparent: 1: The Calidus has a Variable Pitch prop - which we know is actually a fuel range extender, the MTOS did not. 2: The Pilot and Pax in the MT weigh ...

Re: Tandem vs Side by Side; Perfect vs Ideal.

Here is an interesting fact. This weekend a Calidus and a MTOS took off together, full tanks. They flew from Lamberts bay to Morningstar. The Calidus took 15 ltrs the MTOS took 10 more. (**) Not entirely sure if the Calidus was REALLY full or almost full on refilling because I didn't see it myself b...

Turbo is right, not a single pothole in Cape Town. The streets are SWEPT at night  Seriously, trucks with washers and sweepers travel down our road once a week at least. Someone stole a manhole cover in our street. The next day the City replaced it with a new non-metal one and rebuilt the hou...
