Re: Xenon Gyro

Welcome to the wonderul world of Gyro flying Giel!
I know that the guys at Mossel Bay Aero Club will welcome a Gyro amongst them.
They have always been most supportive and keenly interested in these amazing little machines.
I wish you many happy and safe hours in EHT.

Re: Can't give you legs, Can give you wings!

Mike has adequate ankle motion/travel to push the standard pedals if he straps/supports his legs together below the knees so there was no need to modify the machines. Thankfully.

Can't give you legs, Can give you wings!

I thought Michael (Mike) Roberts needed a special mention here. Mike is a low-break paraplegic. This gent has dreamed of flying all his life but never thought it would be possible or even achievable due to his physical restrictions. Enter the wonderful little Gyroplanes we love... The rest is histor...

Re: Gyro Hard Landing - Morningstar

Very interesting MikeMat, thanks. The AP will do a rotor-head overhaul and run-out as standard practice but I would not have thought that the blades could 'bend'. Wow. Good point to check. I wonder if the composite rotors could possibly suffer de-lamination or worse? I'll rely on my AP/AMO to advise...

Re: Gyro Hard Landing - Morningstar

I have just spent 11 hours on a ferry flight so forgive me if I am brief. Okflyer, you humble me with your compliment. Thank you. Jacester, My favourite trick was to kick the front tyre of my Sycamore to show the machines' inherent strength. Upon reflection on this incident, I am thankful that the n...

Re: SAGPA AGM & NORTH / SOUTH 2014

We woke up to pouring rain and terrible visibility here this morning. :( I had to make a call and sadly we will have to cancel our plans. I am too old to fly in poor weather, sorry guys. As for driving up, I know it will be great to see everyone but I am sure you will understand… Sorry, its simply t...

Re: SAGPA AGM & NORTH / SOUTH 2014

Looking forward to your Karoo hospitality Rob.
You guys always make us feel so special. Perhaps this is because the History of Gyroplanes in SA started right there in Carnarvon.

See you on Friday.
