Re: Grumpie-WP
I suspect that's the way all WP rugby supporters, including myself, feel these days!

Re: Ground Accidents.
You will never see me outside a trike with the engine running. Why? Because I learned the hard way! 10 years ago (also at Microland), one Saturday morning my wife and I just started to taxi for a flight to Harties when I decided to close my hanger in case we get back late. I parked, hopped out wile ...

Re: EGT help needed
Stephan, only saw your thread now. When I got the plane, I took the EGT guage out and had it tested at Aviation Engines. They connected their probes, heated them and looked at the reading. Niren concluded that the guage is OK and it must be the probes. He told me that a change in probe lead length c...

Re: my new baby! Again!
FrequentFlyer, I wish you many safe and joyfull flying hours in my, sorry your, pride and joy. Cobra, I feel like a bird without wings. I will make a plan to take to the Microland Skies again ASAP. My immediate priority though is to get the Whisper in the air. I suppose I will have to change my avat...

I admit . . . I am a Microlighters junkie. If I could only spend as much time in the air as on the forum. This is probably why my wife forced me into agreeing not to access the forum before the kids are in bed (which I am in breach of right now). :) :) Imagine how difficult it would be to challenge ...

Trike Mass & Balance
Two questions:
1. A mass and balance certificate is valid for 5 years. Thus, I need to redo mine this year. Is it someting I can do myself? What is the procedure therefore?
2. Can anyone tell me what the sense of a trike 'mass and balance' is, other that to perhaps determine overall mass?

For new applications, you can download an application form from their website. When you phone them, ask to speak to 'Mr Visser' for assistance.
It took me over two years to get a license of my name. The 3rd and 'very explicit' letter did it the thing. I do not get renewal notices anymore.

Game Counting
I did some game counting in the Kalahari from '94 to '96 with a trike. We mainly counted in early morning (i.e. first light) to about 10:00, and then in the later afternoon. We always tried to complete a camp at a time. Further, what worked well for me is to have a pax doing the actual counting, whi...

Part 24
I renewed my ATF today. It states, amongst others, the following and I am not sure that I know if I will be flying legal or not come 1/1/08: "In the interest of public and aviation safety, the applicant is required to comply with the following: - The aircraft is serviceable before each flight and ha...
