Re: Crosswind landings

I doubt that would have go so well if they were landing on a paved runway. I am glad morningstar has the gravel run off areas now. I put down on that with a crosswind allowing the undercarrage to pull straight before getting onto the paved surface.

Oh, yes and we are overdue for a magnetic field reversal. Magnetic fields are weakening so scientist believe we are at the start of a reversal.

Re: Magnetic field strength

The short answer is that the earths magnetic field is generated by a big solid blob spinning in a big molten blob incased in an oblong blob. So the classic image of the magnetic field lines looking like a highschool science class magnet is not exactly accurate. The shapes of the blobs (and probably ...

Re: AirMagic is Now Skywares

Fantastic news!! I am a big fan of the system and my only gripe was loosing comms due to dead battery in the headsets once.

Helmets? I recall Paul had a line going before he folded. Maybe I am mistaken.

Re: Engine noise feedback

I am also having this issue. Chatterbox with ICOM A23 and the Zulu powerbox. Feedback is through the radio as unplugging the radio and everything quietens down. So the problem is on teh radio circuit. The power box is supposed to a regulated supply. Funny enough the noise can in after an engine rebu...

Re: 582 coolant ?

I was reading that the older silver top require the use of the long life silicon based coolant and distilled water due to the tendency of normal coolant and tap water to eat the water pump shaft. Hence the upgrade to the ceramic shaft in the blue top . There is no ceramic shaft in the blue top, onl...

Upgrading Scout from a 503 to a 582

I have been toying with this idea for a while. I am tentatively looking at buying a second trike to fly while I am in Namibia where I work. My bird in Cape Town is a 503 and I have been thinking I need a leeettle bit more oomph for when I am two up. So if I get a 582 trike swap engines but my 503 on...

Re: Microlight Helmets

Hi Biggles. They fit the Airmagic peltor headsets perfect!! I have used the helmets with David Clark, pilot comms, MGL, and of course my Brand GTFLYCOM headsets. I belive they will work with any headset make if the padding is removed that goes on top of your headset. And they sit vare comfortable.....

EGT not working

I have an analogy dual EGT guage that has never worked.

I have changed the probes and several people have looked at wiring it up. But still its dead.

Anyone have any wiring diagrams or know of possible issues with it?
