Thanks Cloudbase.
What you said about not needing a radio licence if its a portable was what I knew to be correct. Does anyone know where this is in black and white :?:
Phoning ICASA was even more confusing and I am surprised they did not ask me if I had a licence to phone them

Do you think we should start a poll to see who has a radio licence for their trike or would that be too revealing  This looks like another case that we don't need a radio but for safety sake we buy one but then have to pay extra to use it.

Radio licence

I have submitted a question on the SAMicro list and had a few replies. The question is: Do you need an annual radio licence for the portable radios in a trike for example. I believe that it costs R380 for application fee and thereafter R48 a year. Where can one get hold of the regulation per...

Thanks Guys for the birthday wishes It was really nice to meet KB in person. Any other passing aviators are more than welcome. On a more depressing note about birthdays, I just heard on the radio this morning that in three years time I am eligable to retire at the Milkwoods Retirement Village.

Aerial spraying

Does that mean I must move my wing to the fast setting on my trike to stay ahead of the napalm while bombing the trees
If it happens I will gladly invite you to try your flying skills :)

Aerial spraying

If I am in ground effect that would probably mean I am going to have to fly around the big pine trees  These are huge stands of trees that are very dense on steep slopes which makes it very difficult to get into with normal labour. I am hoping it's an easier solution to spray  from the ...

Aerial Spraying

Thanks Guy's A bit more information about the spraying. It's mostly black wattle trees with some hakea and pine trees amongst them. It's along a ridge and down the valleys which makes for interesting flying unless it's calm. One would not want to spray if its windy anyway as the poison will drift al...

Aerial spraying

Does anybody on this forum have any experience with aerial spraying from a microlight. I have a game farm with huge stands of wattle and it seems as if it would be more cost effective to spray it from my trike. Any comments?

Memories

Ag Morpheus don't be sad. Come and visit with your Challenger and I'll share some memories with you. That is once the weather improves here again. Maybe in a month or three's time......
Still very interested and envious of your little aerie.

Not sure about the graphite corroding the aluminium but the sleeve that goes through the hangblock is steel in the trikes I know of

Hangblock

Best is to use a puff of graphite. Just slide the hangblock back or forward and give it a puff of graphite. Stops the creeking. Don't use oil as it makes a mess and abrades the hangblock :?
