Re: Building the Safari in Maputo
Thanks Oupa-G! Thanks for the useful advise Mogas. We took out time on the joysticks and all other brass bushes. Had great difficulties getting me hands on a reamer but manage to find a adjustable one! Where the tube bushes are welded on makes it challenging but got it right without sanding the bus...

Re: Building the Safari in Maputo
Nice job Mozfly! Good to see you spent extra time on the joystick bushes, if reamed properly with a reamer there is no slop in the joystick. The problem with using a drill bit is that it leaves an hour-glass shape in the bush carrier, thats where the play originates. The play problem becomes particu...

Re: Stolen 582 Engines
At every ATF renewal airframe, prop and engine serial numbers are checked and forwarded to RAASA on the inspection notification form. IMHO this and previously reported incidents were the work of unscrupulous aviators, not common thieves. Somewhere along the line there will have to be an AP involved,...

Re: Point Of No Return
Thats a good honest post Peters, thanks for sharing and I hope that some will take away a valuable lesson from it. The go or no-go decision point in the takeoff roll you refer to is known as V1 amongst the big blik pilots, it is calculated for every takeoff and takes into account engine performance ...

Re: 582 Water Temp.
+1 on the borehole water. Distilled water, easiliy available at auto shops is the stuff to get for the coolant mix. Then it was mentioned to properly bleed the system, this is very important as an air bubble can cause the pump to cavitate. If I recall correctly there are two places to bleed, one on ...
