Re: ICED TRIKE WINGS

Many years ago I was at the Aerotrike factory in Springs when an almost brand new 912 (one of the first) arrived on a trailer in a very sorry state. He had parked overnight at an airfield, frost on the wing and he ran out of runway when trying too take off and ended up in a ditch as he could not get...

Re: Radio Interference

Hi Guys, Thanks for the response. I must say, I have a Garmin Pilot III and this past weekend I went out and decided to leave the Garmin at home, However I stil got the few bursts of interference. By saying this I had my iPhone GPS running and wonder if this might have had an issue. I also am using...

Re: Pilot induced oscillation on a trike

[quote="Big D"]As per a previous post, and at Wargames' request a quick discussion about Pilot Induced Oscillation I have only ever really experienced PIO on an Airborne trike and let me tell you this is quite scary and you could quite easily loose control completely  When I did my conversion...

Re: Fatal Airborne crash in Hawaii..structural failure

Hi Guys, I have done over 2000 hours in Airborne trikes and 165 hours to date in the SST (topless).(Previously owned Aerotrike and then Aquilla) I instruct on them at one of the most difficult airfields in Oz. I find them incredibally stable and extremely safe to fly. I am not sure where the pilot i...

Re: 912 Coolant

What Brand of coolant do you guys use in a 912? Is Castrol All Climate "pre-mixed ready to use" blue colour ok to use as well as the genuine VW or Toyota red anti-freeze? In Aus, we only use Evans waterless coolant. Airborne do this as a standard. This is expensive but never has to be replaced. I w...

Re: Air Magic + Icom A4 screaming transmit

I've been contracted by Paul. He indicated that installing a Vee Rabbit antenna would fix this problem as well as avoid future hassles when I eventually get my Garmin 196 fixed to the trike. Paul is in Gauteng this week and I will report back on the results. I had the same problem last week. I turn...
