Re: Microlights (Trikes) in Mauritius

About 10 years ago there was a trike operating on floats and doing flips.
The trike was suffering from extreme rust and decided scuba diving and bird watching (unfeathered) was going to keep me occupied.
The guy told me the duty on any spares was 100%

Re: Aerotrike Cobra high speed roll instability

Remember that you have more surface from the side than a windlass, so yes that will happen, but in the same breath Id say that you get the wing tuned and checked as well. My Aeros fly completely different from the Windlass, I have more power on the tail (100hp)and with fast acceleration I can feel ...

Re: Skydat GX2

Does any one know if the Skydat GX2 gives indicated airspeed or true airspeed :?: ASI always gives airspeed as indicated airspeed. True airspeed is a speed relative to earth due to air density to give a more workable solution on calculations for a nav, but indicated airspeed is always used to show ...

Re: Cracked Engine Mount and other issues.

Thanks Greg, I must compliment you on your fantastic illustrations. After looking at your sketch, I now agree that it would probably be easier to remove the elbow, with the hex, and refit it in the correct position. I'll try and pick up the Loctite 221 Violet (A) on the way home. Many thanks. I wou...

Re: Comms Headache

No problem at all Bundy, its possible the batteries if rechargeable are suspect. The chips we use work down to 2,4 Volts. When you use primary Li Ions or Alkalines they are 4 x 1,5 Volts = 6 Volts. With NiMh/Ni Cd rechargeable they are 4 x 1,2 volts which is 4,8 Volts. So obviously you start off wi...

Re: Fuel filter

Anyone use the glass type filter. the one that can be taken apart and cleaned. All Airborne trikes in Oz use the glass filters. I do not know of any problem with the make they use. Many engine outs in SA were blamed on these filters in the past. These possibly had a finer mesh and were made in a di...

Re: Exhast - stainless, or mild?

My 912 exhaust is all stainless. The headers get to 800 deg C without any problems with cracking or anything else Airborne had major problems with stainless exhausts. They had to replace mine after 40 hours with a mild steel ceramic coated and will not use stainless any more. We have a guy who wipe...

Beautiful McGuyver I am the guy who contacted you before Christmas, hoping to get a flight from Somerville. Unfortunately my relatives became a priority, but the clip shows me what I missed. It really is a stunning piece of coast-line. If you are ever in our area, please get in touch, and I will de...
