Re: Microphone wind noise
I do wildlife surveys hanging out the back of a helicopter and use a disposable dust mask that you buy at a hardware store. It works real well. DH's plan with the sponge should work. Maybe just add something to stop the wind from the front.

Re: Sabi hang glider
I spoke to Iaan on the weekend and he said that his labour team are still trying to find the guy. A lot of them live in the township adjacent to the launch site so there is still some hope of finding him. Iaan arranged with a pilot in Sabie to take him for a flip when they manage to locate him. We'l...

Re: Sabi hang glider
A friend of mine saw the incident and took the photos. The "pilot" gapped it before they could talk to him. They have been trying to find the chap and have arranged to take him for a flip when they find him. This incident took place a few months ago and I have not heard if they have been successful ...

Re: NPL / LSA license in Sabie / Lydenburg area /
Hi
As far as I remember the place where they build the Bantams is a short way out of Nelspruit on the Sabi/Lydenburg road. They should be able to help you or put you onto an appropriate instructor.

Re: Sabi hang glider
I got a programme called Gimp 2 and re-sized all the pics. I still cannot get them pasted onto the thread. I suspect that the dept's server and firewall might be a problem. If someone else can post them I will mail the photos to them for inclusion.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Sabi hang glider
I will put the pictures in when I have figured out how to do it. I have downloaded a shrinkpic programme but cant get this to work satisfactorily. Does anybody have any other ideas on re-sizing photos. I see that the web wants pics of about 100 kb.

Sabi hang glider
Thought you guys could use a smile. [quote]Niemand gaan die storie glo sonder fotos nie. Maandag laatmiddag is ek en Jandre op pad vanaf Sabie na Rietfontein. Net buite die dorp vang my oog iets teen die berg. My eerste reaksie, hier het n “microlight” geval. Ek trek van die pad af en terwyl ons pro...

Re: What age
If you are comfortable with your flying and your plane is running well, go for it. My daughter flew with me in an old American Aerolight Eagle when she was about two years old. i would just fly around the circuit with her. Obviously ear protection/headset is a must. The Eagle was a single seater wit...

Moenie laat die ouens jou pla. ek het 'n Aerolight Eagle en die mense vra hoekom wil ek 'n dinosaurus vlieg. Dis myne en hys betaal. Het my omtrent R3000 gekos omtrent 25 jaar gelede. Ek sien daar is 'n paar Mac CDL's wat nog vlieg en is net so oud. Geniet dit want dis lekker.

Re: Old Microlights - Do they just fade away?
Maybe someone could start a museum. I've got an Eagle that can still fly and an XCR that is a bit vrot. My son took the XCR's engine to build a go-cart. Good luck to him. Its a Cuyuna engine and no spares available for a looong time now. That's probably the problem, getting spares for the old planes...

Do you have the right spelling for the farm name? There is a Schaapplaas just south of Ellisras. I cant see any farms with a similar name near Steenbokpan.
