Re: WHY ARE SO FEW WOMEN FLYING RECREATIONALLY
I am not the biggest of girls (ok. Gogos) weighing in at about 55kg. I went solo on a Windlass trike and did quite a few hours before losing my medical. Unfortunately I never got to complete my licence. At the tender age of nearly 50 (then) I did take a little longer but eventually my instructor use...

Re: Radio Licence renewals for 2013-2014 period
Just a warning. We got the same automated email regarding the invoice. We were sitting with a problem regarding this. Last weekend during a ramp inspection our aircraft was 'suspended', its a rather long story, but one of the items listed was that we did not have a current radio station licence on b...

Re: MT 05 Accident Witbank
Hi Malcolm Was there when it happened, but sorry don't know much about gyros and did not actually see the accident. Some of our guys did though and asked me to call an ambulance as a 'helicopter' had crashed. We had a doctor and paramedic at the club and they went out to the scene as well. Witnesses...

HI all Wow! Only seen this thread now! We have great fun with our MXII, and when I think of it in winds, I think of that delivery flight you did for us with ZS-VAP from Bapsfontein to Witbank Henni. We have done many flights from Witbank to Middelburg, around the town and cabbage patch and love our ...

Re: Flying with a "disability"
Hi headtrauma I am a paraplegic due to a back injury and I have been through the whole shebang with Aviation Medical Board. I had to do a 'flight test with a approved CAA instructor' (according to the letter) to prove that I can indeed control the aircraft with my disability. I have a Quicksilver MX...

Sounds very similar to an e-mail received at our skydiving club. A group of foreign tourists, want to train etc, etc. Enquiring about accommodation, dates of arrival...
Fortunately we were warned about this and were not caught, but it seems to be going around. Their stories get better and better.

Well excuse me! I fly one of these 'coffins' - legal with all the paperwork and ATF up to date as well. Its a great little plane and we have tons of fun in it, although it has a limited range and you need a flask of coffee and a sandwich to do a circuit. In the past year or two one pilot got his lic...

Trke overhead Witbank Sunday
On Sunday midday (must have been very bumpy and very windy!) a trike passed overhead at Witbank airfield from East to West without speaking on the radio or he was on the wrong frequency. At the time we had parachutes in the air, our Atlas Angel (turbine Kudu) was descending and an aircraft passing j...

Re: Looking for quicksilver instuctors
Rudix - will be a change from the rest of your toys! You need to pack a lunch and coffee to do a circuit! We love ours and have lots of fun. I have two should you need a spare one  , but one does not fly. Unfortunately we are also too far for you Bullseye. There will be many of ...

Re: Looking for quicksilver instuctors
Bullseye you don't say where you are situated. You may have to find someone with the MXII (two-seater) and then convert to the MXI. You also don't say whether you already fly or if you are doing ab initio training.
