Re: Running a Motor after standing for a Loong Period

Hi Tailspin
The big plumes of smoke when you started it for the first time sounds like it was stored with hibernation oil. Many engines are stored this way after its manufuctured. Should be fine if this is the case.

Re: Justin's Raven

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI

As ek so na die projek kyk, lyk Oupa vir my soos 'n "box-type" soort ou.
Dit is daardie ou wat 'n hele trek se bokse kan toe plak sonder om erens 'n voutjie in die type te maak.
Mooi man.

Re: Dirk & Martyn's RAVEN (2200 Jabiru): ZU-FFZ

Puik manne! Very well done! (^^) (^^) I have closed the bottom gap between the stabilizer and the fuselage and also made a "lead off" between the stabilizer and fin. I have done this for cosmetic reasons because I think the Raven looks uncomplete in this area, doubt if it will have any other benefit...

Re: 503 Single Ignition

The benefit of dual ignition is mainly for reliability (for what its worth). The drop in engine revolutions when you test the mags is due to the change in ignition timing i.e retarded timing.

Re: Twisted flying wires

The twisted in the assembly manual refers 2 cables being snagged around something or twisted on it self that could cause damage to the cable (break strands) when you pull the wing tight. The twisted flying wires is merely to keep the cables togther when you derig and store the wing. This "new one" c...
