Re: AmericanAutogyro

Hersham As per your quotes below.. "There seems to be relatively few hours flown by RAF'S in South Africa, so their stats still very vague." How did you determine how many hours are flown in RAF's? It would be interesting to look at all the types of gyro flying hours... "Very serious limitations pla...

Re: FLYING PAX FOR MONEY

You can apply for a part 96 authorisation which allows you to advertise and charge for flips in NTCA so long as you take off and land at the same airfield. Also the flip must be less than an hour.

Call CAA and ask for the correct procedure to follow. A bit of effort but worth it.

Re: RAF gyrocopter accidents

Kerneels, Kerneels, Kerneels, Now that we have established that you can read the tool bar how about taking the time to read previous posts, you will see that I never commented on your spelling or grammar or use of afrikaans. They really are simple questions: With who, where and for how long did you ...

Re: RAF gyrocopter accidents

Kerneels! Another cut and paste, you are outdoing yourself. If you expect answers to your questions then surley you should answer questions posed to you like with who and how long did you fly with and without a HS in a RAF? Any how, I see you have highlighted some words; is this what you want me to ...

Re: RAF gyrocopter accidents

Anyway, so this is about RAF accidents. My research shows that 2% of all gyro accidents worldwide are attributed to the RAF. Now what if those that have a RAF and have decided to modify the original design with a HS or other then have an accident - does this then get classified as a RAF accident? It...

Re: RAF gyrocopter accidents

Kerneels, Oh dear. You or somebody else, obviously feels strongly about this, but this is not a contest or a fight, it is a discussion and this is a forum for people to get together. I simply published my first hand experience. Thanks for the cut and paste, but it is old news and everybody has read ...

Re: RAF gyrocopter accidents

Kerneels, you need to accept the aircraft as a package and you need to be taught how to fly it. After 11 hours or instruction I flew two complete circuits on a 5km long runway without touching the stick! - rudder and power only. Now that is hard to do in a pitch unstabble aircraft. I then flew the a...

Re: RAF

Ja Boet, on a trip to Namibia and Botswana we cleared customs at Upington and hooked up with the Mocke family. After they helped us over many logistical hurdels, we were also privileged to be given a tour of their RAF factory/ facility. I too asked asked many questions and received only positive and...
